"The work you’re doing on a Northern Virginia RHIO is critical not just on an individual level, but for society as a whole. This is important and I thank you. "
GMU President Alan Merten at the first NOVA RHIO Open Forum May 5, 2006

TBA

  1. Brainstorming Potential Outreach Targets (please note that these were purposely general; depending on the chosen RHIO project, we'll identify specific organizations and people at those organizations to target with outreach efforts):
    • retirement communities
    • large employers (e.g. universities, local governments, school systems)
    • Chambers of Commerce
    • medical societies
    • phamacists
    • health care providers (e.g. hospitals, outpatient health clinics, medical labs, hospice, home health, adult day, assisted living, skilled nursing facilities)
    • faith based organizations/denominational umbrella groups
    • HMOs
    • consumer and advocacy groups (e.g. Alzheimer's, Cancer, Lung, etc.)
    • unions (e.g. AFSCME, SEIU)
    • think tanks (e.g. Families USA)
    • public safety agencies (e.g. first responders)
    • school systems (e.g. student health services if this would fit with the chosen project)
    • media
    • e-mail me with additional suggestions or refinements to these suggestions
  2. When we write talking points for the chosen RHIO project, they will need to be differentiated/tailored to fit with the audience (i.e. the pitch wouldn't be the same to provider and consumer audiences or technical and layperson audiences)
  3. We want to expand this committee's membership so everyone is encouraged to bring more people to the table
